Description
Parking Maintenance Specialist
Parking and Transportation is seeking second-shift Maintenance Specialists (2pm to 11pm), overtime and weekends are required to support campus events.
The Parking Maintenance Specialist performs maintenance and repairs on equipment, parking lots, garages and transit facilities. The employee in this position must have the ability to understand and apply basic maintenance concepts related to structural, mechanical, and electrical systems. The position also works on special events set-up which involves understanding and applying event set-up assignments and placement of materials (cones/barricades/signs/etc.) on campus to support various events.
Qualifications
Education:
• High School diploma or a minimum of one year of maintenance and/or service experience
• Must have knowledge of safe work practices and be able to perform moderately strenuous work activities.
Job Skills:
• General working knowledge of mechanical equipment and tools. Painting, Basic computer skills (e.g., email and data input). Ability to work as an effective member of a team. Excellent customer service skills.
• Valid State of Tennessee Driver’s License
• Must be available evenings and weekends due to extensive maintenance and special events schedule for the University.
