Senior Oracle Database Engineer

What does a successful Senior Oracle Database Engineer do at Fiserv?

The Senior Oracle Database Engineer will perform database migration from existing on prem datacenters to Oracle Cloud (ExaCC / ExaCS) with minimal to no downtime utilizing technologies including Oracle Data Guard and GoldenGate.

What you will do:

• Monitor and analyze performance metrics and allocate database resources to achieve optimum database performance
• Perform fail-over testing; implement database patches and upgrades; and demonstrate expert level knowledge of networks, storage, encryption, security, cloud and backup and recovery technologies
• Install and administer Oracle databases including: 11g, 12c, and 19c and ASM, RAC in both OLTP and data warehouse environments

What you will need to have:

• 5 years of Information Technology experience in Oracle database administration, installing and administering Oracle CDB/PDB databases including migration from on-prem to ExaCS/ExaCC utilizing Zero Downtime Migration with knowledge of backup and restore techniques for databases of at least 5TB including performance tuning, problem diagnosis, and resolution in Oracle database environments
• 5 years of experience in troubleshooting problems relating to the Oracle database that may originate or exist in the infrastructure that supports the data store including application server, network, storage, and operating system component/layer with database migration technologies to rehost and upgrade Oracle databases with minimal downtime
• 3 Years configuring and administering Oracle Transparent Database Encryption (TDE) utilizing HSM based key storage and installing, configuring, and administering Oracle GoldenGate two-way replication with CDR and Automatic CDR as well as other replication technologies including: Data Guard, Active Data Guard, and Streams
• 3 years installing and configuring database utilities, including Oracle Enterprise Manager, shell scripting, SQL and Oracle Cloud based Offerings
• 2 years in configuring backups, backing up, and restoring databases with backup solutions including NetBackup, EMC Networker, and DDBoost
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Maryland, New York, Nevada, Rhode Island or Washington.
