Job Title: Grant Accounting Manager (G32)

 

The PACCAR Technical Center is looking for a Grant Accounting Manager that will be located in our state of the art testing and research facility in Mt. Vernon, Washington. The Grant Accounting Manager will oversee one staff and work with personnel in various engineering and the PACCAR Controller’s organizations. This position reports directly to the Controller.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Actively engage with operations personnel to establish and improve processes and actively support the management team as a business partner. 
  • Prepare timely financial forecasts and budgets for grant programs, including managing the budget review cycle.
  • Manage the month-end closing cycle for grant programs, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements and reporting.
  • Coordinate with sub-recipients on cost sharing reimbursement.
  • Process and submit monthly grand reimbursement.
  • Provide financial support for grant applications.
  • Keeping up to date with current government and agency grant regulations (i.e., FAR cost principles, Uniform Guidance, DOE terms and conditions, etc.)
  • Establish new and refine current company best practices.
  • Support annual grant compliance audits.
  • Support other PACCAR divisions with grants, including training, benchmarking and annual audit support.
  • Special projects as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively across functional boundaries, as well as up and down the leadership chain.
  • Able to establish a strong network across various organizations and disciplines.
  • Attention to detail with a “big picture” focus.
  • Ability to perform in a fast paced, results oriented environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Able to effectively evaluate proposals using sound judgment and present recommendations.
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills,
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong Microsoft office skills – Excel, Word & PowerPoint

 

Education

  • BS/BA Accounting degree.
  • 8+ years of relevant accounting experience required with increasing responsibility.
    • Experience with grants preferred.
  • CPA or MBA preferred.
