As a Transportation and Logistics Manager with Southern States ToyotaLift you will help us ensure efficient, safe, and professional pick-ups and deliveries between our branches and customer locations by managing SST’s Transportation drivers. What you Need/Basic Qualifications:
- Experience with tractor & trailer and roll-back trucks
- Experience with a wide variety of material handling equipment
- Strong proficiency in MS Office programs, including Excel
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated dynamic customer service and customer-focused skills and etiquette
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple assignments, tasks, and priorities, as well as adapt to changing conditions and work assignments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with DOT, Federal Motor Carrier, and other transportation regulated websites
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, journals, and technical procedures
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions one-on-one and in small groups with customers, managers, and other employees
- Ability to calculate figures and discounts
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
What you Need/Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Material Handling Equipment Preferred
Education and Certification Needed:
- High School diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s license and acceptable driving record
What you’ll Do:
- Responsible for maintaining compliance with all standards related to rental transportation department, including, DOT, Safety, Customer Satisfaction, SSMH policies and procedures, Team Schedules, Team Communications, and Service & Maintenance Records.
- Work in collaboration with VP of Rental and Transportation on employee decisions, including performance, hiring, and promotions
- Champion department communication strategies to support enhanced customer satisfaction and company expectations
- Ensure that all branch deliveries and pick-ups are delivered with service and efficiency according to customer needs.
- Establish and implement metrics to determine compliance with DOT standards and internal policies
- Determine and facilitate outsourcing requirements of vendors and outside carriers to ensure the best rates and service to support the Toyota experience to customers
- Coordinate Transportation Fleet Repairs with Transportation Area Manager to ensure accurate service history is maintained and repairs and maintenance are reported efficiently
- Responsible for Monthly billing audits and facilitating billing of Transportation Department
- Ensure Department coordinators have accurate account rates for work orders and invoicing
- Collaborate with VP of Rental & Transportation on creating Driver initiative and engagement activities.
- Responsible for tracking and monitoring for accuracy mileage tracker system
- Any projects/initiatives/coverage as determined by Rental/Leasing/Transportation lead
