RETAIL DINING MANAGER

Salary: $64,000 per year

Schedule:  Full time; Monday through Friday, 7am-3pm with rotating weekends.  This may change based on business needs.  More details are available upon interviewing.

Job Summary

The Retail Manager is responsible for the successful retail cafeteria operation of Food & Nutrition Services at a hospital. They will lead a team of 25 associates.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversees the retail dining cafe operations under direction of the Sr. Director of Dining Services
• Plans and supervises special functions, maintains cash controls, payroll records, and leads all aspects of the hiring, training, and scheduling of our hourly team members
• Ensures customer satisfaction and good public relations through the safe and efficient uses of resources
• Directs staff to provide scheduled retail services in accordance with corporate policies and presentation standards
• Trains staff in customer service, accurate portioning, cashier skills, and safety/sanitation
• Completes all daily, weekly or monthly reports on a timely basis
• Communicates effectively with all associates, clients, and customers/guests
• Implements and maintains company cash handling standards to eliminate theft of services or Company funds

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3 years of food service management experience preferably in a high volume retail dining operation
• Experience working in a hospital or related healthcare environment
• Good knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, marketing and presentation
• P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience
• Experience with cash retail operations
• Retail marketing experience 
• Leadership, management and coaching skills
• Good communication skills both written and verbal with various levels to include management, customer and associate levels
• Knowledge of financial, budgetary, accounting and computational practices
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet
