+ $4/hour shift differential for overnight hours worked between 10p – 8a
No experience necessary --we provide all trainings to become MHRT-1 certified!
The Opportunity Alliance is looking to fill a full-time Residential Services Technician (Med Tech) position with our Ocean Street residential program.
The Ocean Street Residential Program, with a capacity of eight residents, provides trauma-informed treatment and support services to adults living with mental illness complicated by co-occurring chronic health conditions as well as a potential substance use disorder. In a supportive, safe, and secure environment, the program meets the needs of individuals who have a major mental illness by providing psychosocial rehabilitation services and personal care services.
This opening in with our Ocean Street adult residential program. Ocean Street, with a capacity of eight residents, provides trauma-informed treatment and support services to adults living with mental illness complicated by co-occurring chronic health conditions as well as a potential substance use disorder. In a supportive, safe, and secure environment, the program meets the needs of individuals who have a major mental illness by providing psychosocial rehabilitation services and personal care services.
The Awake Mental Health Direct Care Professional:
- provides nighttime direct service in the residential group care or transitional living setting
- provides personal support and supportive counseling to our residents.
- is a part of a clinical team utilizing the tasks of daily living as instrumental treatment components while also helping to create a sense of permanency with a home like environment.
- contributes to identifying needs or emerging needs, physical and mental health wellbeing, medication administration, personal support, watchful oversight, and milieu management.
- maintains clean and organized facility
- maintains staff office charts and documentation.
These positions attend weekly or bi-weekly program staff meetings, and participate in other meetings as necessary. Work is performed, reviewed, and evaluated under the supervision of the Program Director or Program Coordinator.
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hour/week, overnight shift
Various schedules available. Specific schedule availability will be discussed with the program during an interview.
These positions vary with hours. The program operates on a 24 hour/day, 7 days a week basis. Willingness to have availability on weekends/holidays may be required.
Location: on-site in South Portland, ME
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training in mental health preferred.
- Must become certified as Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician 1 (MHRT1) within 1 year of employment; then maintain required trainings to uphold continuous MHRT1 status.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft office preferred.
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills required.
- Flexible schedule is required.
- Ability to work in a team environment required.
- Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check.
- Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
- If MHRT is required for position you must pass CNA registry check
- If residential or ECE employee must be able to pass pre-employment physical and TB screen.
- Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, driving, typing and frequently lift and carry material weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Driving may be necessary to attend meetings and trainings and for the occasional need to meet with clients offsite and within the program service area. This may include transportation of clients or driving to agency location to complete work. A good driving record is required.
