What you'll do...
Customer Service Responsibilities
- Provides assistance to suppliers, buyers, and associates by:
- Helping suppliers locate lost merchandise and fixtures.
- Answering questions regarding policies and procedures.
- Supporting associates with tasks and projects.
Safety and Security
- Maintains safety and security of the floor area by:
- Following all safety compliance procedures.
- Monitoring suppliers in the area.
- Reporting security issues to senior team members.
Work Area Maintenance
- Ensure a clean and organized workspace by:
- Keeping counters and fixtures clean.
- Guiding suppliers on cardboard and trash disposal procedures.
- Bailing cardboard and plastic and arranging for their pickup.
- Recycling cans, plastic, and paper per company guidelines.
- Performing general housekeeping (e.g., organizing, sweeping, operating floor scrubbers, removing trash).
- Restocking supplies.
- Clearing aisles for buyer walk-throughs and ensuring pallets are properly wrapped and slotted.
Merchandise Shipment Accuracy
- Oversees accurate merchandise handling by:
- Logging deliveries in receiving logs.
- Sorting and palletizing merchandise by buyer and event.
- Ensuring merchandise is delivered to correct aisles.
- Staging pallets sold to the associate store and verifying shipment accuracy.
Supplier Assistance
- Supports suppliers with:
- Deliveries at the drop-off door.
- Researching misplaced or incorrectly sent merchandise.
- Addressing claims and lost freight issues.
- Following up with suppliers for sample pickups or shipments.
Team Collaboration and Leadership
- Leads and participates in team activities by:
- Sharing resources, information, and tools.
- Identifying customer needs and prioritizing business objectives.
- Coordinating and executing work assignments.
- Offering advice, feedback, and support to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Helping team members adapt to changes or new challenges.
Process Improvement and Collaboration
- Develops and implements effective processes by:
- Collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and business partners.
- Analyzing information from multiple sources.
- Monitoring progress and addressing areas for improvement.
Compliance and Integrity
- Promotes compliance with company policies and ethical standards by:
- Explaining, guiding, and demonstrating proper business practices.
- Implementing corrective action plans.
- Using the Open Door Policy to address concerns.
- Assisting management in resolving ethical and compliance issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Customer Service Experience: At least 1 year of experience in customer service.
- Supply Chain Knowledge: Background in supply chain operations or related fields.
- Strong Communication and Organizational Skills.
- Team-Oriented Attitude: Collaborative mindset with the ability to support and work effectively with surrounding teams.
