Job Title: Hospital Director of Human Resources
Location: Johnson Regional Medical Center

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Job Summary:
The Hospital Director of Human Resources (HR) is responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the hospital's mission and goals. This role involves overseeing all HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, compensation and benefits, compliance, and workforce planning. The Director will ensure that HR practices foster a positive work environment that attracts and retains top talent.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Leadership:
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that support the hospital’s goals.
- Collaborate with senior management to forecast staffing needs and workforce planning.
- Talent Acquisition and Management:
- Oversee recruitment processes, ensuring effective sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding of staff.
- Develop and maintain an employee retention strategy to reduce turnover.
- Employee Relations:
- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns and grievances, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
- Promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement initiatives.
- Performance Management:
- Design and implement performance appraisal systems that promote employee development and accountability.
- Provide guidance to managers on performance-related issues and best practices.
- Training and Development:
- Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
- Oversee the orientation process for new employees to ensure a smooth transition.
- Compensation and Benefits:
- Administer employee compensation and benefits programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance with regulations.
- Conduct market research to evaluate the hospital's compensation strategy.
- Compliance and Policy Development:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring they are communicated effectively to staff.
- Workforce Analytics:
- Analyze workforce data to identify trends and inform HR decision-making.
- Prepare reports for senior leadership on HR metrics and initiatives.
- Diversity and Inclusion:
- Promote diversity and inclusion initiatives within the hospital workforce.
- Develop strategies to create an inclusive workplace culture.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field; experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 -10 years of HR experience, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or director-level role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
- Certifications: Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) preferred.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven leadership and team management abilities.
- Ability to analyze complex data and provide strategic insights.
- Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment within a hospital setting.
- Occasional extended hours may be required to meet deadlines.
