Job Description

This role is responsible and accountable for defining, planning, managing, and safely executing O-I’s major capital projects. Major furnace repairs, strategic expansion plans. 

The position will be responsible to effectively manage activities across all 4 process areas for the initiation, scope, cost estimating, forecasting, engineering, procurement, installation, commissioning, and close out of major capital projects.

Seeking someone experienced in construction with industrial experience. (Glass, cement, oil and gas, big building construction projects). Not commercial or residential construction. This role will oversee projects and plants in the US and Canada. You will: 

  • Lead and manage projects to accomplish the defined scope, cost, schedule, quality, risk management and internal customer/stakeholders expectations
  • Work with the planning department, engineering and operations discipline leaders to allocate and manage internal and external resources in order to execute the projects
  • Create a baseline once approved, making sure the engineering is progressing while managing multiple projects  
  • Drive a construction safety culture
  • Regular reporting of project status and cost to senior corporate and CG leadership
  • Rigorous change and contingency management
  • Monthly spending forecast preparation

This role will require 30-50% travel within the US and Canada

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree:  Engineering, project management, or engineering management preferred
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in manufacturing industries process / engineering. Preferable in project management
  • PMP certification by PMI desired
  • SAP knowledge desired
  • Experience with managing CAPEX projects required
  • Glass factory experience desired
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams

Salary Range:  The expected salary range for this position is between $90,200-$135,400 with a 10% STI.  Actual pay will be adjusted based upon candidate experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
