Job Details:

Mercer University’s Stetson-Hatcher School of Business (AACSB-accredited) invites applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting on Mercer’s Atlanta campus beginning August 2025.

 

Responsibilities:

Primary duties for the Assistant/Associate Professor position are teaching three face-to-face, hybrid or online courses (at the graduate level) per semester (a 3/3 teaching load), publishing in high quality (e.g., ABDC list) peer-reviewed academic journals, and participating in school events and university committees.  Preference will be given to candidates who are qualified to teach Individual Tax and Corporate Tax courses.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must have a Ph.D. or D.B.A.in Accounting or J.D. with a taxation concentration and meet the requirements to be Scholarly Academic (SA) under AACSB Standards. Candidates that have completed all but the dissertation will be considered at the rank of Instructor until the PhD is obtained. Candidates should have demonstrated research capabilities and strong teaching effectiveness. Rank will be determined by experience and demonstrated abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

At least three years of tax experience, at least three years of teaching experience (with favorable teaching evaluations), and a CPA license are preferred.
