Medical Records Specialist I, full time, days/evenings

Processes medical records for completion of required documentation. Maintains accurate and logical filing systems for the timely retrieval of medical information. Assists internal and external customers and patients with Medical Records inquiries promptly while displaying professional customer service.Reviews patient records to ensure compliance with legal Medical Records requirements.

Employment Type: Full Time (80hrs/pp)

Weekly Scheduled Hours: Monday-Friday from 12pm-8:30pm (Day/Evening Shift)

Weekend Frequency: No weekends

Wage Range: $14.75-$19.62 per hour

Requirements: High school diploma/GED, or higher education

Oversight of Medical Record Functions

• Analyzes patient records to ensure compliance, accuracy, and completeness on lower acuity work types
• Reviews patient records to ensure compliance with legal medical record expectations and identifies gaps in regulatory requirements.
• Enters deficiencies into the Electronic Medical Record system in accordance with department policies.
• Performs Document Imaging on all patient records and other legal documents achieving a 95% accuracy rate.

Manages incoming requests via fax machine and departmental phone line.

• Manages fax machine activity and distributes for processing.
• Transcribes departmental phone line messages and distributes accordingly.
• Oversight for processing continuing care requests in a timely and efficient manner
