Position Summary

Responsible for leading and supervising production employees in meeting the production demands of the market, ensuring the highest quality standards, and meeting or exceeding budgetary key business indicators

Responsibilities

• Create a culture of Safety and Teamwork
• Ensure that all guidelines of GMP, HAACP, the Environmental Control Act and OSHA standards are in compliance; lead environmental, safety, and health processes for assigned areas
• Maintain working relationship with the collective bargaining unit, ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreement to achieve company goals
• Continuous improvement
• Facilitate problem solving and develop action plans to address performance issues and achieve key performance indicator goals
• Evaluate production employees job performances
• Direct employees on reactive repairs
• Adjust Production schedule based upon changes in plant performance
• Perform investigations on events which occur under their authority.
• Implement improvement ideas from employees
• Lead or Champion a Safety Team
• Work Permit Writing.

Required Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree with previous experience strongly preferred.
• 3 to 5 years manufacturing experience.
• Strong and effective communication skills.
• Continuous improvement experience.
• Ability to effectively interact with all levels of organizational personnel.
• Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute effectively.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously under various deadlines.
• Must be willing to rotate shifts.
• Operations Experience at a Xanthan Gum Plant preferred
• MS Office knowledge preferred
