Job Description

AECOM has a position available for an Architectural Designer III to join our Buildings + Places team in Los Angeles, CA.  

This is a hybrid work-model and requires office presence 2-3 days/week. We are open to this hire splitting their in-office time between Orange and LA or San Diego offices.  It will be critical for this hire to be in our Orange office at least 1-2 days of the 3 required days.

The responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Performing basic architectural calculations, studies, research, and tasks
  • Preparing specifications, reports and related project information
  • Researching and preparing material and application studies
  • Preparing presentations and design related material
  • Maintaining liaison with design team members and groups
  • Preparing, reviewing, and coordinating drawings as required
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architect, may perform design and technical assignments of moderate complexity
  • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with team members and with other disciplines assigned to project
  • May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel

      Qualifications

      Minimum Requirements

      • BA/BS degree plus 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
      • Demonstrated experience and recent working knowledge with Revit and full Adobe CS Suite
      • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Masters Degree in Architecture 
      • 6+ years of experience in a technical or design centric architecture studio
      • Candidates actively pursuing licensure will be prioritized
      • Strong interpersonal skills
      • Exceptional communication abilities spanning various mediums; verbally, visually, narratively 
      • Strong preference for talent with 1-2 years of experience on Federal projects. Healthcare, Commercial, Science & Technology/Lab project experience are also helpful.
      • Experience using one or more of the following is helpful: Bluebeam, Sketchup, AutoCAD, Lumion, Rhino, Autodesk Navisworks, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
      • Elevated proficiency in graphical aesthetics, particularly in the context of presentation quality materials
      • Autodesk Revit certification is a +
