Eikon - Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer (part time)

The Eikon Research team is expanding. We are currently seeking a Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer to join our team for the design, development, and improvement of software for our family of ground-based radar systems on a part time basis in Huntsville, AL.  Some hybrid/remote work may be acceptable. The successful candidate will support the design and development of modeling and simulation software supporting various commercial and Government customers. The modeling and simulation software is primarily used to support high-fidelity real-time radar simulations, and includes antenna, signal, signal data processing, radar data processing, and radar system modeling.   The duties for the Modeling and Simulation Software Engineer are as follows, but not limited to:

• Implement new models or modifying and integrate existing models to meet new requirements  
• Design and develop interfaces to integrate Eikon modeling and simulation software with 3rd party environments 
• Design and develop user interfaces for configuring, running, and monitoring simulations and processing simulation data outputs 
• Peer review code and documentation from other Eikon software engineers 
• Testing simulations in a distributed execution environment 

Requirements

Minimum Candidate Requirements

Candidate must have Bachelor's Degree in computer science or engineering-related field or 5+ years additional experience in lieu of a degree.

Candidate must be US Citizen

Candidate must have active DoD Secret Clearance, or ability to obtain Secret Clearance

Candidate must have 5+ years experience with the following:

• Modern C++ design and development (C++11 or later) 
• Concurrency and parallelism in software design and implementation
• Implementing and/or working with both time-driven and event-driven simulation environments 
• Message passing architectures, common message passing frameworks, and industry standard messaging protocols 
• Developing user interfaces using either web-based technologies (e.g., JavaScript and React) or desktop client technologies (e.g., Qt) 
• Data storage frameworks and encapsulation, such as SQL and NoSQL databases, RDF, JSON, XML, etc. 
• Standard software development tools, including CMake, Git, Jira, and Doxygen 

Desired Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Practical Linux usage 
• Additional programming languages, including Python, JavaScript, Java, and MATLAB 
• Experience with radar systems, signal processing, and radar data processing 
• Experience modeling flight dynamics for aircraft and/or missiles
