Head of Planning

Indianapolis, IN (hybrid)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Rolls-Royce as the Head of Planning. As Head of Planning, you will drive value stream (customer to supplier) on time delivery by ensuring robust planning is executed credibly, with overall accountability for functional and professional development of the Planning & Control population within Raw Materials & Special Processes. In this role, you will travel both domestically and internationally up to 15%

Key Accountabilities:

  • Functional leadership of teams of management and staff to maximize performance and ensure compliance to all company and functional policies
  • Develop people to ensure that the function has the highest possible level of professionalism at all times, that the function retains its key staff and that it has a strong succession plan in place
  • Define and implement agreed functional strategies and plans which drive business improvement and are fully aligned to business and other functional strategies and plans as appropriate
  • Support the development of policies, processes, procedures, standards, tools and infrastructure to ensure excellence in functional capability now and in the future
  • Provide group and business procedures that are fit for purpose and appropriately deployed and that ensure compliance to all legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Measure process compliance and performance and ensuring gap closure as necessary by the deployment of process improvement initiatives and any appropriate training
  • Ensure the deployment of best practice by establishing, maintaining and engaging in communities of practice for all staff
  • Provide and operate shared services where appropriate

Basic Requirements:

  • Associate degree with 10+ years of experience, with at least 6 of those years within an operations, purchasing or planning and control environment, OR
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience, with at least 6 of those years within an operations, purchasing or planning and control environment, OR
  • Master's degree with 6+ years of experience in an operations, purchasing or planning and control environment, OR
  • JD/PhD with 3+ years of experience in an operations, purchasing or planning and control environment, OR
  • 12+ years of experience, with at least 8 of those years within an operations, purchasing or planning and control environment
  • In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident

Preferred Requirements:

  • Familiarity with purchasing and supply chain management preferred
  • Global outlook and exposure to different challenges, cultures and ways of working
  • Has a proven track record in delivering results in both favorable and unfavorable conditions
  • Exposure to cross-functional working
  • Planning and control expertise
