About the role

Location:  This role requires a hybrid work schedule out of our Fresno, CA office, 2 days a week in office.

SUMMARY:

• Examine insurance requirements in order to create and deliver accurate and complete certificates of insurance
• Follow up with team members through Email and phone to collect additional information needed.
• Follow established certificate processing guidelines and procedures accurately and efficiently
• Perform front desk / Word Processing administrative duties for “back up” purposes.
• Perform Administrative duties / special projects on an “as needed” basis.
In the performance of these tasks and all duties the Certificate Technician/Admin Associate is expected to conform to the following:
• Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision;
• Interact professionally with other employees and clients;
• Work effectively as a team contributor;
• Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with others.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Certificate Technician
• Evaluates relevant client policy information and accurately performs data entry in applicable software, producing the appropriate certificates of insurance within specified deadlines;
• Reviews discrepancies in data received, requests clarification or advises supervisor of issues related to data and performs data verification routines in accordance with company and departmental procedures;
• Interacts with departmental and other coworkers on matters affecting data and work flow and makes recommendations for improvement or enhancement to job processes;
• Other duties may be assigned.

KEY COMPETENCIES:

• LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.

• REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• One or two years of college or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. College degree desired.

• California Fire and Casualty Broker License preferred

• Must have in-depth working knowledge of a variety of Microsoft Office computer software applications in word processing, and spreadsheets

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.

• Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires teamwork, demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
