Job Description Summary

The primary function is to assure the smooth functioning of the Emergency Service. This is accomplished by efficient and accurate triage, case prioritization, and work-up of all incoming cases. You will also be responsible for training and development of senior veterinary students, nursing students and nurse assistants.

Job Responsibilities

  • Accurately and efficiently triage, prioritize, and work up all incoming cases
  • Facilitate the smooth and efficient functioning of the Emergency Room and maximize patient care through direction of all emergency personnel, communications with referring veterinarians and clients, and interfacing with various departments within the hospital.
  • Train and develop senior veterinary students, nursing students, and nurse assistants.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

Must have at least 2 years of experience working with hospitalized small animals on IV fluids.

Veterinary Technician A: CVT or board eligible--must sit for boards within 3 months of hire

Veterinary Technician B: CVT and 2-3 years of experience

Veterinary Technician C: CVT and 3-5 years of experience

Veterinary Technician D: CVT and 5-8 years of experience

Veterinary Technician E: CVT and 8 + years of experience
