Summary:
The Quality Technician will plan and conduct activities concerned with the quality assurance and control of manufacturing processes, products, and raw material across multiple operating companies residing in the Dover Pearland Operations facility by performing the following duties:
Responsibilities:
- Leads and supports continuous improvement activities; collaborates with Engineering to improve manufacturing processes with the objective to stabilize or increase process capabilities
- Inspects products (raw material, in process and final), prepares certifications, collects and maintains data, creates and maintains FAI data, coordinates and performs testing in QC Lab, sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive testing, accepts and rejects parts, writes evaluations reports and validates performance to packaging and shipping standards.
- Initiates and closes MRR’s, CAR’s and CCR’s as well as assists in the investigation if root cause and corrective actions, performs internal audits, evaluates and closes RMA’s, trouble shoots defects by using A3’s/A4’s, audit corrective action implementation, assists Supply Chain and Engineering in the purchase and testing of materials and returned materials.
- Execute value Stream/Quality GEMBA’s; analyze data and create pareto charts.
- Work with operators on measurement methods and processes, recommends modifications of existing standards, demonstrate a commitment to safety and compliance.
- Develops and reports quality KPIs; investigates and analyzes causes of scrap, rework and warranty to determine root cause; develops robust corrective actions to enhance or improve quality within the facility and proposes preventive actions for improvement.
- Develops and supports standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation of raw materials, work in-process and finished products; develops and creates written inspection procedures along with forms and instructions for recording and reporting quality data
- Participates, and leads, Internal Audits of the Quality Management System to assure compliance to ISO 9001 standard and verify the process matches the documentation
- Maintains necessary ISO quality records
- Initiates Supplier CARs and verifies the effectiveness of the suppliers corrective or preventive actions completed
- Assists QC Inspectors in performing inspections and certifications required for Final Release of customers products; collaborates with Engineering in generating customer deviations and concessions
- Maintains the data integrity of the Calibration program and the precision and accuracy of the testing and measurement equipment
