As the Senior Director of Manufacturing Engineering you play a key role in Moxion's expansion. This position is pivotal in leading the establishment of our new manufacturing facility, landing new equipment, optimizing processes, and ensuring the successful production launch. Once our 2nd factory is launched, the role will transition to day to day management of all Manufacturing Engineering, Controls and Equipment Maintenance functions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in manufacturing leadership, process optimization, and product launch in a high-tech environment.

As the Senior Director of Manufacturing Engineering you play a key role in Moxion's expansion. What you’ll do:
- Oversee safety, costs, and quality targets for assigned areas
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential needs
- Research and purchase manufacturing technology
- Prioritize projects effectively for team
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods
- Employ knowledge of product design, materials, parts, fabrication processes, tooling, and production equipment to lead efficiency
- Monitor assembly methods and quality control standards
- Write clear, detailed job instructions
- Create and implement process control plans
- Lead 1st article manufacturing validation activity for design changes
- Work with HW Engineering to identify and correct product related issues on the line
- Utilize strong on-the-fly problem solving skills
- Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements and workflow
- Maximize efficiency of equipment layout design and workspace
- Advocate for new product design for manufacturing
- Confer with vendors and engineering to determine product specifications
- Arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts
- Evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards
- Estimate production times, staffing requirements and related costs
- Communicate budget needs to leadership using data
- Cross collaborate with engineers and leaders to determine manufacturing capabilities and production schedule
- Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential needs
- Research and purchase manufacturing technology
- Prioritize projects effectively for team
Skills to be successful:
- 10+ years’ experience in an automotive manufacturing environment or related environment
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (mechanical, electrical or industrial)
- Design for manufacturing experience; Process design and layout experience
- Expert level of understanding of lean manufacturing concepts
- Strong functional hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of equipment controls systems
- Knowledge of GD&T, basic Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and electro-mechanical systems
- Knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plan and ISO/TS
- Proficient in Solidworks and MS applications
- Experience with power tools and measuring tools
- Ability to work in a fast paced manufacturing environment with exposure to ambient temperatures, chemical fumes, fiberglass
- Ability to work various shifts when needed
