About the role

Description

The Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a full-time, Renewable Term position in French for the 2025-26 academic year, with a possibility of reappointment contingent upon excellent performance and adequate enrollments. Start date in August 2025. The teaching load is 22-26 credit hours per academic year, typically 3 courses per semester, primarily from Beginning to Intermediate French. Salary is based upon terminal degree. The position includes benefits. Instructors will attend all meetings and workshops related to lower-division French and complete tasks (such as participation in preparing some course materials and holding office hours) for the section as required.

Qualifications

Candidates must hold at least an M.A. in French language, literature, linguistics, applied linguistics, or a related field at the time of appointment. Applicants must have native or near-native proficiency in French and a good command of English. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
