Job Description

AECOM is seeking a creative and technically accomplished Senior Project Architect to join our growing Cleveland or Columbus, Ohio offices. This role is ideal for a design-driven leader with a passion for delivering high-quality architecture, mentoring staff, and leading multidisciplinary teams on complex projects.

As a Senior Project Architect, you will leverage deep technical expertise and industry experience to lead projects of varying scale through all phases of design, documentation, and construction, while fostering strong client relationships and team collaboration.

AECOM’s Ohio Buildings + Places practice—anchored by large studios in Columbus and Cleveland—is one of the firm’s most established and high-performing studios within the West Region. Our global client base spans Public Non-Federal, Cultural + Civic, Higher Education, Science & Technology, Transit, and a full range of Federal clients (ANG, NASA, DHS, GSA, NPS, VA, USACE, USAF, USSF).

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead one or multiple interdisciplinary project teams in partnership with the Project Director and/or Project Manager
  • Deliver design and technical documentation across all project phases
  • Support business development and pursuit of new projects
  • Produce contract documents using advanced design software
  • Develop solutions to complex technical challenges
  • Supervise and mentor junior architects and designers
  • Coordinate project documentation with structural, MEP, lighting, AV, landscape, and civil consultants
  • Facilitate communication with clients, contractors, vendors, consultants, and permitting officials
  • Perform quality control reviews to ensure studio standards are met

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor of Architecture and 6+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Licensed Architect

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop, and PowerPoint
  • Working knowledge of building codes, construction methods, and building systems
  • LEED Accredited Professional (USGBC)
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, open-office environment
  • Broad knowledge of architectural principles and practices
