The position

Full time faculty position beginning July 2025 with a 30 credit hour (170 day contract per Board Policy 4.12) teaching load annually.

This full-time faculty position will teach a variety of Human Services courses including: psychology, mental health, counseling, behavioral health, social services, and if qualified, addiction studies.

Of special interest for this position is a candidate with experience and knowledge in human services, mental health, counseling, addictions, and/or social services fields in rural communities.

Teaching responsibilities include:  full course load as assigned, evaluating courses, assess student learning, meet established course, program and learning outcomes, comply with guidelines and policies, maintain office hours per established standards, develop rapport with students, assist with and participate in advising, orientation and registration activities, and build and maintain community partnerships for student application of skills. This position will teach in multiple modalities including in-person face to face, hybrid, and livestream/distance.

This position reports to the Dean and works directly with the Program Director, program faculty and faculty from other disciplines to develop and sustain a top-quality human services program. Additionally, this position will work with the Assistant Dean of Instruction for course support to best meet the needs of students.

CMC Faculty engage in activities of service to students, the discipline, the college and the community. Activities include but are not limited to: serving on campus and college committees, participating in relevant projects, mentoring peers, performing assessments including self, peer, student and program reviews, engaging in student organizations, recruiting and retention activities, and developing community partnerships that facilitate experiential learning opportunities for students.

Critical to this position are collaborative and innovative ideals for working with supervisors, peers, students and community members. 

Requirements:

Qualified candidates must be credentialed, or eligible to be credentialed, to teach in this program. Examples of ideal qualifications include:

A Master’s degree in Human Services, Counseling, Behavioral Studies, Addictions, Psychology, Social Work or closely related field, or a Master’s degree and a minimum of 18 graduate credits in a Human Services related field. Minimum of one-year full-time teaching experience at the college level, or the equivalent as an adjunct instructor. PhD or EdD preferred.  Three years of experience working in a related direct service field(s) preferred.

Salary range: $77,575.25 - $94,486.59 annual salary depending upon a combination of education and experience. Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Pet insurance, retirement contribution, tuition reimbursement, annual & sick time, mental health resources, healthy lifestyle benefits, affordable transitional housing may be available to the successful candidate based on eligibility and availability, relocation if applicable. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidate’s skill and experience. Although a salary range is listed, salary will be set commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.
