Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time.  Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers.  Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation.  Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines:  Reliability, System Safety, and Supportability.

What You Will Do:

The X-Band Radar (XBR) program is looking for an experienced Principle Systems Engineer to serve as the Logistics Integrated Product Team Lead (IPTL) to plan and execute sustainment strategy of the fielded system including maintenance support/planning, major technology upgrades, material procurement, sparing availability, training and technical manuals, return & repair, and technical assistance. In addition, this role will directly support the Program Manager in overall program execution.

As the Logistics IPT Lead you’ll work closely with the Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Operations, IPT Leadership and Program Management teams to apply disciplined program management processes and utilize tools to establish and monitor metrics and trends to ensure excellence in execution.

The X-band sea-based radar is an integral component of the Missile Defense Agency’s overall midcourse defense architecture that is currently in sustainment while undergoing significant technical upgrades planned for both hardware and software. In the IPT Lead role, you will balance cost and schedule, while delivering a product which is compliant with the contract. This involves developing solutions which are the best fit for the overall program performance, reliability, maintainability and supportability while driving execution.

Additional responsibilities will include:

• Providing Cross Product Team (CPT) Leadership of the Life Cycle Engineering team for the XBR program

• Providing overall Execution Leadership for the Ground Based X-Band Radar (GBR) modernization effort

• Oversight of sustainment activities across all functional groups supporting the XBR and GBR programs

• Ensuring cost and schedule for on time delivery for sparing, return and repair, test parts, etc. to meet the Radar mission, contractual obligations, and customer expectations.

• Frequent interaction with the customer community, the program office, functional and technical leaders and setting an effective communication cadence

• Driving adherence to the established program plans and schedules, accurately measuring and reporting on progress, identifying potential problems in sufficient time for corrective action to be taken, and ensuring the delivery of contractual commitments.

• Early identification of risks and opportunities, along with mitigation and capture plans.

• Partnering with the chief engineer and technical leads to provide the most cost-effective technical solutions.

• Attending regular customer briefings and ensuring a positive customer relationship.

• Supporting strategic efforts to identify and advocate for future sustainment needs and best practices to improve our system reliability, maintainability and supportability.

• Regular review of program status including tracking and review by both Engineering and Program Leadership.

• Responsibility for proposal efforts, negotiations and reviews for any new scope and any potential contract modifications to ensure success and growth for the business.

• This position is ONSITE based in Woburn, MA.

• Domestic and International Travel may be required.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically Requires:  Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)  and a minimum 8 (eight) years of relevant Engineering, Program or Project management experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 (seven) years experience
