Description
The Comin’ Up Site Director is responsible for the implementation and successful execution of coordination of services for the Comin’ Up Gang Intervention Program at assigned site. Responsibilities include but not limited to leadership, member participation, case management, program implementation, safety, and administrative compliance.
The Comin’ Up Gang Intervention Program serves at-risk and gang-involved youth between the ages of 12-18 years in Fort Worth communities. The goal of the Comin’ Up Gang Intervention Program is to positively impact the lives of at risk and gang involved youth by providing needs-based services and activities to reduce the level of gang violence in the City of Fort Worth.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Leadership:
- Competent and credible leader others choose to follow

- Work with leadership and management to assist in carrying out responsibilities on personnel matters
Participation:
- Implement recruitment plan and meet participation goal
Case Management:
- Accountable for case management processes and outcomes
- Utilize coordinated service delivery approach at assigned site; ensure multi-disciplinary team is functioning at an optimal level
Program Implementation:
- Coordination and supervision of wrap-around social services for participants including: case management, GED instruction, referrals for vocational training, implementation of early-intervention activities, needs-based and life-skills groups, etc.
- Responsible for coordinating program vision and regular communication with branch director to ensure smooth transition between programming and services
- Accountable for successful implementation and completion of grant and contract requirements; responsible for the accurate completion of monthly and other programmatic internal and external reporting for site
Facility and Child Safety:
- Accountable for adherence to all organizational health and safety policies and implementation of all safety practices and procedures at assigned work location(s)
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect members, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities. Abide by facility maintenance protocols and procedures to ensure compliance
- Accountable for reporting incidents and completing documentation within required timeline
- Maintain discipline, de-escalate conflict between members and/or others
- Obtain and renew CPR and First Aid certification by deadline
Administrative Compliance:
- Complete all required reports and administrative duties on time
- Collect and manage required data and internal and external reporting. Ensure accuracy of data and reporting. Ensure the effective completion of all assessment and measurement activities of programs
- Comply with all administrative policies and procedures, processes and controls
- Accountable for accurate and timely paperwork, reports, and data entry
- Accountable for utilizing all BGCGTC communication tools regularly and effectively
Requirements
Education and Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university; social service majors preferred OR equivalent experience
- Experience with management, fiscal responsibility, case management and youth programming
- Minimum 2 years experience working with at-risk and/or gang involved youth
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to work regular program hours which includes day, evening and night hours with periodic weekends. Required night hours are 7:00pm – 11:00pm Monday - Friday
- Ability to attract, train and retain qualified personnel
- Ability to establish rapport and build relationships
- Ability to persuade, influence, and motivate others into action
- Demonstrated success managing relationships with varied community stakeholders.
- Effective time management, organizational and planning skills;
- Knowledge of conflict resolution strategies and methodology
- Experience in successfully meeting government funded contracts with deliverables for performance
- Knowledge of problems and barriers at-risk youth face
- Must be a team player, willing to collaborate and make team decisions
- Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
- Must be able to pass any and all required background screens
