Job Description

Consumer behavior continues to evolve at a continually increasing pace.  Understanding this behavior and resulting performance of CPG and Tech/Durable products is not only critical to retailers and manufacturers, but also to public policy setting organizations.  When government agencies are leveraging the industry’s best retail and consumer measurement data, they can adopt policies that are consistent with consumer behavior and most likely to succeed.  This is why we’ve expanded into this new vertical, which will play a key role in our vision for the future.  It’s exciting!  

In the role of Associate Director, Sales for Government and Non-Profit Accounts, you will be responsible for leading large, complex sales engagements across our portfolio of NielsenIQ measurement solutions to our existing and new government clients, and for expanding the business across this client sector.  This role will pioneer the development of commercial strategies to renew and achieve new business, building meaningful client relationships, and ultimately closing deals.  The successful candidate will join an expanding team of 30+ high-performing and high-energy associates.  This fast-paced team is excited to have a new member join our group to build on the momentum we have established and deliver against lofty but attainable growth goals.  

Responsibilities include:  

  • Leading commercial strategy and sales of NielsenIQ’s measurement solutions to US state and federal civilian government agencies, non-profits, health care and universities 
  • Achieving sales and strategic objectives by clearly articulating NielsenIQ’s value proposition and use cases to decision makers specific to the product portfolio of responsibility  
  • Building meaningful relationships with client stakeholders and teams  
  • Representing the voice of the customer to internal product development, product marketing, communications and delivery teams   
  • Working collaboratively with other product sales leads & cross functional partners   
  • Achieving sales quota consistent with NielsenIQ margin goals and delivery expectations   
  • Generate sales leads and maintain a pipeline of sales opportunities across a portfolio of government clients consistent with NielsenIQ’s growth strategy   
  • Accurately forecasting the sales pipeline, areas of growth, areas of risk and prioritize to close sales consistent with sales cycle norms 
  • Weaving client specific insights, industry material and thought leadership information into client conversations to build context and clarity to the outcomes our solutions can deliver 
  • Owning cross functional relationships and being a subject matter expert for your accounts and partners in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience selling to government agencies 
  • Previous experience working in the areas of market measurement 
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales results  
  • Experienced in scoping and developing proposals, and negotiation strategies 
  • Excellent sales pipeline management skills with a track record of predictability and consistency  
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software  
  • Familiarity with NielsenIQ tools, applications and platforms a plus
