The Cybersecurity group at KLA is involved in every aspect of the global business. The KLA Cybersecurity group defends against cyber-attacks and provides cybersecurity tools, incident response services and assessment capabilities to safeguard the environments that support the essential operations of KLA. We are passionate about identifying adversarial activities and anticipating a wide variety of threats to strengthen our defenses and the overall protection of KLA Intellectual Property.
We are seeking a Senior Data Protection Analyst to join KLA’s Digital Information Risk team. In this role, you will champion critical data protection initiatives and monitor for emerging changes in regulatory enforcement. Join us and help safeguard KLA’s data, innovation, and global operations.
What You Will Be Doing
The Senior Data Protection Analyst will help drive proactive information protection and ensure compliance across the full data lifecycle—from creation to retirement. You’ll partner with both technical and business stakeholders to ensure that KLA’s data is governed, protected, and used responsibly.
Key responsibilities include:
Executing requests from Cybersecurity leadership and Intellectual Property councils that support KLA’s strategic vision for scalable and rigorous data protection controls.
Driving data protection initiatives from inception through delivery and maintenance, with a focus on global data protection controls and intellectual property protection.
Aligning data protection policies, standards, and procedures with enterprise governance frameworks and risk tolerance.
Collaborating closely with security leadership, teammates, and cross-functional partners on a weekly basis to assess, recommend, and implement data protection measures consistent with KLA’s risk posture and compliance obligations.
Documenting data protection policies, exceptions, and workflows, and coordinating periodic reviews with appropriate stakeholders.
Partnering with KLA's product divisions to understand objectives, risk tolerance, and shared accountability for secure data practices.
Identifying and driving improvements that strengthen least‑privilege access and security controls while preserving a positive end‑user experience.
Preparing comprehensive progress reports and presenting strategic recommendations to senior leadership regarding initiative status and task completion.
Identifying and monitoring for risks in the regulatory landscape, considering business impact and providing mitigation recommendations.
Conducting reviews and validation of data security controls across the environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CIPP.
Experience in project management or a related credential.
Ability to read, write, or speak a foreign language relevant to KLA’s global footprint.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Cybersecurity, IT Security, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Experience in security systems administration and data protection management technologies, such as DLP, data classification, GRC solutions, and/or CASB.
Working knowledge of current and emerging regulatory frameworks, standards, and laws (e.g., NIST 2, ISO, CCPA) and experience in driving compliance to existing frameworks.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audie
