Senior Backend Engineer (w/m/d)

We are everstox – a Munich-based tech and logistics startup on a mission to unleash the power of logistics for leading e-commerce brands and logistics champions.

We’re looking for a Senior Python Backend Engineer who is highly skilled in backend development and enthusiastic about AI. You keep up with the latest trends, know how to separate hype from real business value, and want to shape how AI can make logistics smarter and more efficient.

Your role

• You will take ownership of backend applications in a cross-functional engineering team, from development and testing to maintenance.
• You will lead improvements of our modern tech stack and actively shape our architecture.
• You will set the standard for high-quality, maintainable code with code reviews, CI/CD, and agile development processes.
• You will help manage our cloud environments, including AWS and CI/CD pipelines.
• You will act as a mentor to other engineers and contribute to building a strong engineering culture.

What you bring

• You have 7+ years of technical experience in Python (or other languages with openness to switch to Python).
• You are enthusiastic about AI, keep up with the latest developments, and know how to evaluate what’s useful for real-world business impact.
• You have experience developing and testing APIs using frameworks like Flask or Django.
• You understand and apply common code design patterns.
• You have experience building and running microservices in production.
• You have worked with monitoring and observability tools for live services and applications.
• You have experience with queueing systems.
• You can write performant SQL queries and work with ORMs effectively.
• You are familiar with cloud-based technologies, preferably AWS.
• You have strong communication skills in English and enjoy collaborating in distributed teams.
