Database Analyst / Engineer

Responsibilities

In support of our Military Health client at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland, Peraton is hiring for an SAP Sales Distribution (SD) Functional Analyst to support the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the Sales Distribution (SD) module for a defense medical supply chain management solution.

 

Gathers analytical requirements working with subject management experts. Develops data frameworks for data analysis to support end-user data discovery. Develops data extraction, transformation, cleansing, and loading processes between transactional and analytical systems. Builds reports, dashboards to support end-user reporting and information requirements. 

• Acquire data from data sources, write SQL scripts for data migration extract/transform/load steps.
• Write Python/Pearl scripts to automate repeatable tasks such as data migration and/or validation.
• Perform data profiling of source and target data using SQL, MSQL (Mongo DB Query Language) PL/SQL, interpret data and analyze results.
• Document results of the data analysis and profiling
• Create new and reverse engineer ERD diagrams for the legacy and new databases. Document relationships, cardinalities, keys, and other information critical for modeling and migration.
• Identify data anomalies, locate “bad data” and address data issues by developing appropriate “fixes”.
• Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
• Ability to perform complex data mapping.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD in computer science, information systems, or similar IT degree
• Must be a US citizen
• Able to obtain, a U.S. Government Public Trust Suitability clearance level Tier 3, NACLC background investigation.
• Experience performing data analysis to migrate data from a legacy system to a target system.
• Ability to perform detailed analysis of information requirements and to assist users and other stakeholders to identify and clarify data definitions and business rules.
• Strong understanding of, and experience with data dictionaries, data models, and data maps in an enterprise business software environment
• SQL – Expert/Advanced level
• Python, Pearl, Shell scripting is a big plus.
• Ability to work in Linux environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• MongoDB Query Language (MQL) 
• PostgreSQL PL/SQL

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
