Our Hardware Production team plays a critical role in deploying devices that capture real-time energy data from customer sites across the U.S. and Canada.
Role OverviewWe’re seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Hardware Production Technician to join our warehouse-based manufacturing team. This role involves assembling, wiring, testing, and shipping custom data acquisition kits (Voltlets) that support Voltus' demand response mission. The ideal candidate takes pride in high-quality craftsmanship, follows procedures precisely, and enjoys working on a small team where accountability and collaboration are essential.
Employment for this role will begin with a 90-day probationary period. During this time, performance and suitability for the position will be evaluated.
Work EnvironmentThis is a non-remote, warehouse-based role. The schedule consists of standard 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. The role involves a steady, process-driven workflow where each build plays a critical role in Voltus’ field performance. What You’ll Do
- Assemble and wire custom low-voltage hardware kits (Voltlets)
- Program and bench-test devices for accurate KYZ pulse data capture
- Package and prepare shipments for deployment to field sites
- Track inventory, update records, and log assignments in internal systems
- Perform basic diagnostics and troubleshooting of hardware
- Maintain and occasionally improve internal documentation and SOPs
Key Qualifications
- 2–3 years of hands-on assembly or manufacturing experience
- Experience working with low-voltage electrical systems (wiring, connections, component handling)
- Proven experience reading wiring diagrams and using hand tools (screwdrivers, drills, wire-strippers)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation, tracking, and communication tasks
- Experience handling inventory in a manufacturing setting, including picking parts, restocking, and working from picklists tied to build orders
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions
- Dependable, accountable, and proactive communicator
- Must have reliable transportation to Georgetown, TX
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with internal platforms and tools used to configure hardware builds and map device-level data to real-time telemetry dashboards
- Exposure to Salesforce
- Ability to write and maintain SOPs and procedural documentation
Physical & Workflow Expectations
- Combination of sitting and standing throughout the workday
- Use of a pallet jack for handling equipment and shipments
- Occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds safely
- Strong attention to detail in both physical assembly and digital recordkeeping
- Ability to self-direct and plan your own workflow, including task prioritization and daily scheduling of work tasks within a standard shift schedule
Education
- High School Diploma required
- Technical training or certification in electrical or electronics preferred
