This role in summary
The Senior Industrial Engineer oversees the division's standard cost and ECN/ECR systems, directing the development, implementation, and maintenance of product operation routings. This role conducts engineering methods and data analysis to drive cost reductions, enhance ergonomic safety, and establish Direct Labor Standards. Additionally, the Senior Industrial Engineer advances divisional growth and profitability by executing capacity analyses, managing capital projects, and overseeing the seamless integration of new products and manufacturing processes.
Your responsibilities will include
- Support and lead the management of the ECN/ECR process as Manufacturing Engineering Lead
- Direct the creation, execution, and upkeep of manufacturing operation routings.
- Establish Direct Labor Standards and Standard Data through engineering methods analysis aimed at cost reduction and ergonomic safety enhancements.
- Evaluate current production processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement through data analysis, time studies, and performance metrics analysis.
- Assist with new product line work station development and MTM documentation.
- Conduct plant layout designs, workflow analyses, and Indirect Labor studies to enhance product flow efficiency.
- Optimize capacity, decrease work-in-progress, and minimize expenses by conducting data analyses and/or line balancing across multi-operational processes.
- Evaluate process capacity and generate forecasts to determine capital investments required to support divisional growth.
- Formulate resource requirements and cost estimates to facilitate the launch of new manufacturing processes or products.
- Collaborate within cross-functional teams, offering professional insights and technical direction to ensure team goals are met.
- Develop and defend Appropriation Requests for small- to mid-sized capital initiatives, tracking project budgets, execution, and cost-reduction performance.
- Mentor, coach, and provide technical consultation to junior engineering personnel.
Minimum requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Strong competence in communication, planning, mathematics, data analysis, and computer applications.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting quality documentation, bills of materials, and product drawings.
- Project management experience.
- 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in process improvement methodologies, WCM (World Class Manufacturing), Lean, Six Sigma.
Preferred skills and experiences
- Methods-Time Measurement (MTM) Certification
- Practical experience with CAD tools.
