Job Description
The Foreman is responsible for coordinating and supervising manufacturing activities within the assigned area, ensuring the achievement of operational targets related to safety, quality, delivery performance, productivity, and cost efficiency.
Main Responsibilities:
- Ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations within the assigned production area, in line with defined KPIs (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity).
- Ensures optimal utilization of production lines and available resources, coordinates activities to minimize downtime and production losses.
- Responsible for headcount planning, workforce allocation, and hiring needs, aligned with production volume forecasts and business requirements.
- Leads and coordinates Shift Leaders, defines team structure and composition, and ensures an optimized direct manufacturing headcount based on volumes and business requirements.
- Acts as a key people manager on shopfloor level, responsible for coaching, mentoring, and developing associates to improve skills, performance, and engagement.
- Deploys KPIs at shopfloor level, ensures performance transparency, and follows up on action plans to close gaps.
- Supports associates in continuously improving working methods, standardized work, and ensures adherence to defined processes.
- Identifies performance deviations, quality issues, and inefficiencies within the area of responsibility and proposes, drives and implements corrective and preventive actions.
- Actively contributes or leads Continuous Improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing, Problem-Solving, Kaizen activities).
- Ensures compliance with internal company procedures, work instructions, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Collaborates cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, Engineering, and other support functions to ensure stable and efficient production processes.
- Supports change management activities related to new products, process changes, or volume ramp-ups.
Qualifications
Professional Experience & Technical Skills:
- Proven experience in leading and coordinating manufacturing teams, preferably in a Foreman or similar leadership role.
- Solid experience in mass production environments is mandatory (experience in automotive manufacturing is strongly preferred).
- Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Experience with production planning, workforce management, and performance monitoring.
- Confident user of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is required.
Education:
University degree (technical background is preferred).

- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced production environment.

- Ability to work effectively in an international and multicultural context.
Language Skills:
- Fluent English is mandatory.
