As part of a small team of specialists, architects, engineers, and program managers you will be responsible for prototyping, architecting, and deploying new Digital Engineering solutions for our internal customers. This environment will enable engineering teams from various business units and other internal partners to securely and efficiently share designs and interfaces of space vehicles and systems, while protecting each tenant's intellectual property.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with business partners to identify business problems, generate ideas to solve novel problems, test hypothesis through rapid prototyping and establish target state architecture to achieve business goals
- Establish and govern Architecture Principles and Objectives for our Digital Engineering technology stack
- Employ the latest research and industry standard methodologies in problem domain to craft innovative and repeatable solutions
- Proactively engage with federated development teams, earning their trust through providing tactically useful input
- Define and maintain reference architectures and design patterns to accelerate new architectures, designs and implementations
- Design, implement, and operationalize new COTS and custom software capabilities; curate a library of enterprise solutions critical to flight and operations that is available to all Blue Origin engineering teams
- Be the change agent to adopt new solutions to drive efficiency and enable the mission
- Research and analyze multi-cloud security environments for a comprehensive multi-cloud security approach that applies Zero Trust principles
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- 5 years software architecture experience
- Expert-level experience implementing and customizing a major PLM system (e.g. Aras Innovator, PTC Windchill, Siemens Teamcenter)
- Proven ability in building cloud-native, scalable, distributed software systems including networking, containerization, server less compute, IaC, DevSecOps toolkits and CI/CD
- Experience building and deploying composable business architectures to support rapid expansion and business agility
- Ability to deliver incremental and individually valuable steps toward a coherent scalable architecture
- Ability to quickly absorb information in an unfamiliar domain and translate it into software
- Experience working collaboratively with the motivation to coach and mentor junior team members
- Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture (NIST 800-207)
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
- Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or similar analytical field
- Industry knowledge of multiple of the following areas Configuration Management processes (CMII), Model Based Definition/ASME Y14.x, Quality systems processes, DFMEA, PFMEA, Manufacturing Process Planning, Simulation Data / Process Management, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), IOT/IIOT
- Experience with Requirements Management tools (e.g. DOORS, Jama)
- Manufacturing and/or Aerospace industry experience
- Safety Critical Systems design/development experience
- Experience with Hardware Test and Flight Operations
- SysML/UML Modeling experience
