We are now looking for an exceptional Program Manager, Margin & Cost Initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible to lead a program aimed at continuously finding and executing opportunities for cost savings and operating margin improvements in the US region. You will work cross-functionally with Operations, Digital, Finance, and Data Analytics teams to identify margin and cost savings initiatives, prioritize by expected business impact, and drive to completion as a leader for cross-functional projects, implementation of digital improvements, and holistic assessment of customer and business impact. This can be a hybrid role based out of NY/NJ or performed remotely to work within EST/CST hours.
What you will do:
- Continuously identify opportunities to expand operating margin and reduce cost while maintaining a best-in-class physical customer experience
- Strategize and identify opportunities together with operations, finance, data analytics, and digital teams to create and drive programs aimed at expanding margin and reducing cost in the US region.
You will focus on driving cross-functional initiatives aimed at:
- Identifying inefficiencies and bottlenecks in the supply chain and lead initiatives to optimize them through data analysis
- Leading cross-functional workshops and discovery sessions with different departments to generate ideas and identify savings opportunities
- Building business cases and influencing stakeholders and product managers for the prioritization of critical digital features that can support margin growth
- Conduct Value Stream Mapping of key aspects of the organization processes to identify opportunities for savings and efficiency
- Regularly meet with operations leaders to gather pain points and requirements and identify tactical and strategic solutions to address them
- Act as a single point of contact between the US region and digital product managers to build a roadmap of features aimed at driving margin expansion
- Launch & scale programs and projects. Track, communicate, and coordinate with various stakeholders and teams across Marley Spoon US and the company at large;
- Develop and execute end-to-end programs focused on expanding margin and reducing cost
- Measure, track and analyze results, report progress, and optimize programs continuously
- Layout a roadmap by team and margin growth COGS bucket for the roll-out of the initiatives
- Drive informed decision-making and ensures the resolution of critical issues by partnering with senior leaders to identify goals, success criteria, assumptions, risks, and known issues within the business
- Create communication strategy and content; educate sponsors, stakeholders, and executive leadership on program requirements; develop and implement a program management life cycle
- Develop solutions within business areas that grow margin and meet business goals; prioritize assignments; ensure accuracy of business data; recommend program changes to stakeholders based on data, and persuade cross-functional teams and stakeholders to implement changes
Requirements
Who you are:
- Degree in a STEM or other related quantitative field
- 3+ years experience either in management consulting, product management, project/program operations/supply chain management in a DTC business
- Extensive previous experience in project management including a formal qualification like Lean Six Sigma, PRINCE2, or PMP
- A high degree of comfort overseeing major projects and leading cross-functional teams
- An ability to adapt style and communicate effectively with everyone in the organization
- Excellent financial awareness, at ease with analyzing management accounts (P&L / Balance Sheet)
- Data-driven decision-making mentality and sound business judgment through strong analytical thinking
- ‘All-Hands-On-Deck’ approach with a ‘get things done attitude
- Solid data analysis skills
