What You Will Do

  • Perform the mechanical work necessary to process aircraft alloy chips for reprocessing.
  • Work includes safely driving a fork truck around congested shop floors to deliver and collector chip containers and return to chip well for processing.
  • Assist other mechanics with mill wright and plumbing actives to maintain process and facility systems.
  • Transport chip barrels from shop staging stations to chip well.
  • Use fork truck and manual barrel hand truck to move chip carts and barrels.
  • Process chips and separate chips by alloy type.
  • Drain coolant from chips.
  • Weigh and record alloy in container
  • Palletize material by alloy.
  • Load into correct trailer for shipment to vendor for processing.
  • Notify lead person or supervisor of full trailers and when supplies are getting low.
  • Assist other mechanics with mill wright and plumbing actives to maintain process and facility systems.
  • Mist & dust collector PM’s and repairs.
  • Overhead, elevated work using manlifts (install / demo utilities).
  • Sanitary piping (unclog restroom and piping).
  • Assist overhead hoist repair.
  • Assist others responsible for complex installation, overhaul and repair projects in preparing materials and operating equipment.
  • Under direction of Leader/Supervisor follow specific instructions and standard trade practices to obtain tools, material, and equipment for carrying out work assignments on piping systems, control devices and related equipment.
  • Assist other trades working on joint projects where common skill crossover provides the opportunity for shared responsibilities and more effective use of available skills.
  • Refer difficulties to leader/supervisor.
  • Hours are Monday – Friday 6:24 AM – 14:54 PM.

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • US Citizenship required due to government contracts
  • 2+ years’ experience in a related field
  • Fork truck trained and licensed required

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Have technical background
  • Attention to detail for repetitive tasks
  • Capable of physical activity to manually move material safely
  • High level of safe work practices while performing all tasks
