Responsibilities
Noblis MSD’s mission is to support the Product Manager of Army Watercraft Systems (PM AWS) with the Life Cycle Management of the Army Watercraft Fleet through engineering and safety analysis, design support, technical support, configuration management, maintenance engineering, quality assurance, integrated logistics support, test asset installation, program management, new equipment training, milestone documentation, obsolescence management, and business case analysis. We are looking to hire a Technical Writer.
Noblis MSD is seeking a Tech Writer with experience in Arbortext, XML, Interactive Electronic Technical Manual Tagging in accordance with Military Standard 40051-1.
- Work as a member of a Logistics Team in Support of Army Watercraft Integrated Logistic Support (ILS).
- Produce Electronic Technical Manuals using Arbortext and the Government Program Interactive Authoring and Display Software (IADS).
- Develop XML files using Abortext for maintenance and operator work packages that comply with Military Standards and IADS.
- Create proper files for Electronic Technical Manuals.
- Develop XML Tagging for Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Repair Parts and Special Tools Lists (RPSTL), Theory of Operation, Location and Description of Major Components, Location and Description of Controls and Indicators, Preventive Checks and Services, Operation Under Usual Conditions, Operation Under Unusual Conditions, Basic Issue Items (BII), On Board Spares Lists (OBSL), Expendable and Durable Items Lists (EDIL), Component of End Item (COEI), and Maintenance Allocation Chart (MAC) work packages.
- Work within established timelines and milestones.
- Update weekly, monthly, and as required reports.
- Maintain work folders on a server.
- Assist team members as required.
- Attend team meetings.
This is a 100% remote telework position with operating hours of EST.
Required Qualifications
Required Experience:
- Arbortext tagging.
- Interactive Authoring and Display Software (IADS)
- Creating interactive electronic technical manuals.
- Bachelor's and minimum 3 years related experience or Associate's Degree and minimum 6 years related experience or High School and minimum 9 years related experience or Master's and minimum 1 year related experience.
Required Skills:
- Above average computer skills with the ability to learn and use LogiQuest, and Army Publishing Directorate libraries.
- Active Secret clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Be self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently/multitasking.
- Ability to collaborate with team members and other internal departments effectively.

- Military Standard, MIL-STD 40051-2C Preparation of Digital Technical Information for Technical Manuals
- Army Regulation 700-127 Integrated Logistics Support
