Job Title: Vocal Musical Director (Musical Production)
Stipend:   0.5 Addendum

Reports To: Director of Musical and Site Principal

Term:  Duration of Season

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be an experienced musician with experience in teaching and directing the music for major ensemble events that are symphonic in nature.

1. Versatile, professional musicianship and vocal/piano skills.
2. Previous experience working with Walden Grove High School fine arts is preferred.

 
JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Provide vocal auditions while helping in the selection of casting the musical.
2. Teach performing techniques to the singers of the show including, but not limited to:  balance, blend, articulation, tone production and vocal projection.
3. Assist in scheduling rehearsals, technical rehearsals and performances.
4. Hold and direct musical rehearsals either alone or in conjunction with the stage rehearsal for a minimum of 4 hours per week in January to 20 hours per week during dress rehearsal and performances of the show.
   1. Expected rehearsal hours of 4 hours per week January to March.
   2. Expected rehearsal hours of up to 20 per week in April leading up to performance.
5. Prepare vocal performers for joining the orchestral music players by March.
6. Keep accurate attendance records and assessment results.
