Job Summary:
The Portfolio & Program Management Co-Op role is within the Manufacturing Process Intelligence & Digitalization team in Commercial Manufacturing and Supply Chain (CMSC) organization. The team is responsible for delivering cross-functional project management, business analysis, value analysis to build automate business processes in the purview of commercial manufacturing Subject Matter Experts. This individual is expected to support management best practices and contribute to the execution of integrated project plans and deliverables for cross-functional systems portfolio operations initiatives. The individual will have exposure to applications of Lean Six Sigma principles, agile and design thinking methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and maintain high quality integrated project plans, manage inter-dependencies and identify scheduling constraints
- With support, plan team meetings by drafting agendas and partnering with stakeholders to collate meeting materials
- Provide active meeting management by capturing minutes and tracking action items
- Engage team members to understand stakeholder needs and incorporate feedback into deliverables
- Organize completion of project team deliverables and contribute to content development, as appropriate
- Upon request, communicate project information including timelines, status, risks and issues
- Use tools to support agile software management practices - Jira, Confluence, PowerBI, Microsoft Office Tools, SmartSheet, etc.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline
- Pharmaceutical drug discovery and development acumen across one or more disciplines
- Knowledge of project management principles, best practices, tools, technology and methods
- Organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong collaboration skills to effectively interact with teams and stakeholder
- Legal authorization to work in the United States, now and in the future. Please note that Vertex does not provide sponsorship for internships or entry level roles within this part of the organization.
- Candidate must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before July 2025
- Candidate must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from July - December 2025.
Program Dates: July - December 2025, Full Time
Pay Range 20.00 – 32.00 USD/hour
