Senior Scientist

The Opportunity:

Avantor, a Global Fortune 500 company is looking for a dedicated Senior Scientist to optimize our Biopharma / R&D organization.

This Bridgewater, NJ on- site role is full-time.

Minimum Education:

• Ph.D. degree with 1+ years of post-doc work experience is required.

Required Experience:

• Conceptualizing, planning and performing laboratory experiments such as materials synthesis/purification, cell culture, fermentation, downstream processes along with chemical or biochemical analysis to advance new product/application projects though development phases.
• Conducting experimental work following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) principles.
• Preparing experimental protocols, SOPs and analytical test methods.
• Analyzing, summarizing, and accurately reporting results to contribute to scientific meetings and project outcomes.
• With the operation and routine maintenance of laboratory instruments and troubleshooting procedures in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
• Accurately documenting all procedures and observations.
• Maintaining laboratory area, utilizing safe practices while working in the laboratory environment as per EHS guidelines and policy.
• Supporting preparation of materials/samples following defined protocols.
• Hands-on execution of chemical laboratory experiments
• Conducting experimental work following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) principles
• Managing laboratory equipment
• Conducting lab work & process development for chemical products / polymers
• Providing hands- on support to conduct synthesis work.
• Preparing experimental protocols, SOPs and analytical testing
• Planning and performing laboratory experiments.
• Analyzing, summarizing and reporting results
• Working knowledge of experimental laboratory instruments and scientific products
• Experience with organic and polymer synthesis as well as characterization methods and tools
• Collaboration tools (i.e. Microsoft Office)
• Utilizing safe laboratory practices and procedures
• Direct laboratory experience in synthesis, purification and characterization of organic molecules, polymers and inorganic material.

Preferred Experience:

• Working in a GLP/GMP facility is preferred.
• Preparing experimental protocols, SOPs and analytical test methods
• Operation and routine maintenance of laboratory instruments and troubleshooting procedures in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
