People Experience Consultant
San Mateo, CA (hybrid)
We’re looking for a People Experience Consultant to join our People Experience team and provide support to HR Business Partners (HRBPs) aligned to our engineering and Platform Experience groups. The right candidate will have solid HR fundamentals; partnering with HRBPs to understand overall goals, requirements, culture, and challenges while collaborating with all HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) to deliver objectives. The ideal candidate will be passionate about HR, have a sense of urgency, seek continuous improvement, have experience working in a Shared Services model within a dynamic HR team, and take pride in delivering a positive customer service experience.
Principal Duties/Responsibilities:
- Deliver HR service as an extension of the HRBP team and as part of a core HR service team
- Assist HRBPs in a variety of projects on an ad hoc basis; including assisting on Human Capital Planning and OD, year-end performance review, ACP, and with other tasks as assigned
- Serve as escalation point (Tier 2) for employee questions; focusing on developing relationships within the business group and providing exceptional service experience
- Embrace the adoption of digital platforms; including managing ServiceNow cases assigned to People Experince Consultant team
- Assist COE teams by supporting program launches and as Tier 2 escalation, responding to employee questions on all HR topics
- Partner with HRBPs and COEs to support business needs in areas such as, recruiting, mobility, performance management, total rewards, learning and development
- Focus on continuous improvement to analyze and make recommendations on existing HR policies, practices and programs and implement improvements
- Maintain and be responsible for employee data in Workday and develop/enhance HR procedures and documentation
- Develop strong partnerships with business teams; understanding the unique practices and differences of each group
- Use data to drive decisions; create and maintain reports for HRBPs and the People Experience team, using department resources and developing new insights
- Promote positive employee relationships through communication and interpretation of HR policies
- Assist Employee Relations with various projects including but not limited to performance issues, conflict resolution, involuntary terminations, and mutual separations
Required Knowledge / Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Proven experience of successfully partnering with senior HR and business leaders
- 7-12 years previous experience in HR; in a fast paced, high tech or creative environment
- Working knowledge of employment laws and federal and state regulations – Canada a plus
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and common sense regarding sensitive information is a must
- Excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with people at all levels of the organization, with experience presenting information and data to all levels
- Ability to work in a global setting, with international colleagues
- Demonstrate versatility of experience and the ability to prioritize work from diverse sources
- Highly data literate
- Innovative and creative approach to problem solving
- High level of initiative and responsiveness with an aim to quickly resolve problems
- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task and set priorities in a demanding environment
- Strong Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel skills
- Experience using Workday or other HR systems
- Experience using ServiceNow or other case management systems
