Mobile Medical Assistants play a pivotal role at Ascend, delivering healthcare directly to patients wherever and whenever they need it. They handle various critical aspects of individualized patient care plans, encompassing clinical and administrative support, patient triage, point-of-care testing, phlebotomy, administering injections and immunizations, among other responsibilities. Proficiency in Ascend's products and service offerings is essential for successfully engaging in upselling and cross-selling to patients.


This role involves one-on-one interactions that significantly impact individuals' lives by introducing them to a new approach to primary care, fostering comfort and familiarity. As an essential part of a dedicated team, the Mobile Medical Assistant contributes to delivering exceptional and comprehensive in-home primary care to a specific patient population.


As Mobile Medical Assistant, you will:

  • Facilitate Mobile Health Consultations:
    • Conduct thorough pre-visit chart reviews or planning.
    • Travel to and from appointment sites (patient's home).
    • Facilitate communication between provider and patient as needed.
    • Participate actively in assessments.
    • Participate in high-volume patient care events such as vaccinations or physicals.


  • Patient Preparation and Exam Assistance:
    • Prepare patients for examinations.
    • Set up referrals for routine screening tests and specialist visits.
    • Assist physicians during exams.
    • Explain treatment procedures and physicians' instructions to patients.


  • Medical Procedures and First Aid:
    • Perform phlebotomy.
    • Administer injections, vaccinations, and medications under provider supervision.
    • Change dressings and apply bandages and conduct other first aid procedures.
    • Utilize CPR skills when necessary.


  • Serve as Brand Ambassador :
    • Execute ground-level marketing efforts, promote events, and engage in various marketing initiatives.

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday, 8 hour shifts

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Graduate from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR equivalent healthcare preparation (i.e. foreign-trained physician, paramedic, etc.) is required.
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years MA experience working in a healthcare setting required.
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record required
  • Must be proficient in venipuncture and injections
  • Must be current in CPR certification
  • Strong ability to utilize technology
  • Proficient in safely maneuvering through traffic, capable of extended periods of driving throughout the day.
