Quality Technician

The Defense and Aerospace Quality Technician supports quality assurance activities related to aerospace and defense manufacturing. This onsite role in St. Petersburg Florida is responsible for inspecting components and assemblies, performing quality tests, supporting root cause investigations, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards such as AS9100, ITAR, and customer-specific requirements. The technician works closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to maintain product integrity and customer satisfaction.
How will you make an impact?
This position will work closely with internal departments to provide support for all quality activities including audits, inspections, material review board functions, and other duties as assigned.
This is an onsite position, and you must be a US Citizen to work at this specific Defense and Aerospace site.
What will you do?
Support internal customers on manufacturing issues related to quality.
Actively participate in cross functional team meetings.
Assist in conducting internal audits (ISO, EOS) and corrective action follow-up.
Work closely with suppliers regarding quality concerns.
Inspect, measure, and test mechanical, electrical and electromechanical components and assemblies
Verify material conformance to specifications. Interprets company and industrial specifications.
Gather and maintain specific records of technical data related to materials, tools, fixtures and processes used in company
Performs in process inspections and audits and logs results for later analysis.
Assist inspectors as first point of contact for defects and issues.
Review the defect sample and check the purge process.
Collects and analyzes data using statistical analysis methods
Assist Quality Engineers with follow up on the execution of DA, ECN and CAPA (Corrective Action and Preventive Action).
Review non-conformance material and products.
Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.

Education and Experience:
US Citizenship required.
High School Diploma or GED preferred not required or equivalent experience.
Must have at least 1 year of previous experience working in a manufacturing environment related to quality.
Ability to read blueprints, specifications, engineering drawings and applicable industry standards.
Must have strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
6 months previous experience with Lean Manufacturing techniques preferred.
Strong organizational skills required.
