About the role

Job Summary 

The Vascular Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular conditions. The Technologist will utilize advanced imaging techniques and state-of-the-art equipment to ensure accurate and timely patient assessment. They will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary medical team and contribute to the development of individualized care plans. The role requires a high degree of technical competence, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient safety and comfort. 

Essential Functions

  • Performs non-invasive vascular procedures including arterial and venous studies
  • Operates ultrasound equipment to capture images of blood vessels and assess blood flow
  • Evaluates patient medical history and symptoms to determine appropriate testing protocols
  • Prepares patients for procedures by explaining the process and answering any questions or concerns
  • Monitors vital signs during procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort
  • Collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide studies to assist in accurate diagnoses
  • Maintains accurate records of patient information, test results, and equipment maintenance
  • Adheres to aseptic technique guidelines to prevent infection transmission
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology required or
  • Associate Degree Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program required
  • 0-1 years Clinical experience in vascular ultrasound required
  • 1-3 years Clinical experience in vascular ultrasound preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for vascular conditions.
  • Expertise in utilizing advanced imaging techniques and equipment.
  • Strong skills in patient assessment to ensure accurate and timely diagnoses.
  • Ability to collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary medical team.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient safety and comfort throughout procedures.

Licenses and Certifications

  • ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with certification as VS required or
  • ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography with certification as RVT required
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support required
