About your new role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineering Manager to help scale and build our software engineering division, guiding our teams through an era of unprecedented growth and innovation. This role is pivotal in maintaining our award-winning momentum, by leading our three current engineering teams and strategically expanding to five. You will be instrumental in enhancing our processes and accelerating development to continue delivering exceptional value to our customers.
This individual requires a strong technical background in both back-end and front-end development, encompassing expertise in areas such as software architecture, database management, API design, and user interface design. Additionally, this role involves leading and mentoring engineering managers to ensure efficient product delivery, aligning technical strategies with business objectives, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration within the engineering team. This individual will report to our Director of Software Engineering. This is a Full-Time, 100% Remote opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and scale Software Engineering teams, setting clear goals and expectations, while fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, ensuring high-quality product delivery in a timely and efficient manner.
Steer the technical roadmap while ensuring every project under your watch aligns with our overarching product strategy, architecture, and roadmap.
Create systems to manage consistent product delivery, advocating for necessary technical work, and maintaining a laser focus on customer impact.
Collaborate with our Product team to break down needs into technical requirements, architecture, and tickets for teams.
Work closely with other teams to ensure our engineering efforts support the broader needs of the company, while also being hands-on in guiding the team’s technical direction
Mentor and develop engineering talent, promoting an environment of continuous learning and professional growth.
Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of our systems and infrastructure.
Build upon the concept of shipping is the starting line for learning. Ship something, talk to users, get feedback, and iterate.

What you'll need for success:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field; Advanced degree preferred
5+ years experience building and leading Software Engineering Teams with a high-growth SaaS company
Experience leading projects and coaching engineers through a project’s lifecycle in an Agile environment, utilizing Scrum.
Comfortable dealing with changes as we respond to a rapidly changing marketplace.
Ability to attract and hire great engineers, manage, and mentor them and make them successful.
Expertise in our tech stack consisting of PHP, React, and Python.
A passion for Quality and a “Get Stuff Done” attitude that is balanced by a sense of responsibility to your customers and team.
An ability to understand complex software environments and end-to-end system architecture flows (with a solid understanding of SaaS systems and Microservices).
Experience with developing and maintaining complex applications in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Knowledge of best practices related to legacy development, scalability, and performance.
Previous experience working with a fully remote team, leading them to long-term success.
