The GAM Strategy team serves as a trusted partner to senior leaders within Global Asset Management, providing dedicated support for the development and execution of GAM’s highest-priority strategic initiatives. The team drives alignment on strategic goals, facilitates decision-making on key priorities, and ensures effective tracking and reporting of progress. Acting as a central hub for collaboration, the team engages with stakeholders across RBC to advance GAM’s strategic agenda. GAM Strategy offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing team members with opportunities to develop critical skills, contribute to transformative initiatives, and gain exposure to a leading area of the bank focused on growth and innovation. This role will be primarily focused on GAM’s US strategy

The Associate Director, GAM US Strategy will be responsible for supporting strategy development, creating materials to support executive decision making, project management of strategic initiatives and tracking of strategic priorities.

What will you do?

  • Enable informed executive decision-making through the production of competitive analyses and ad-hoc research pieces that describe the industry and competitive landscape, emerging trends and business opportunities
  • Innovate by looking within & outside of RBC to identify opportunities to advance the business and improve client and business outcome
  • Drive the execution of the GAM’s US strategy, including creation of strategic narratives, roadmaps and progress reports
  • Lead select engagements alongside business and functional executives that will support business growth
  • Lead the quarterly strategic review processes in support of achieving strategic objectives, business performance goals and financial targets
  • Evolve the architecture for measuring progress against strategic priorities
  • Develop materials to clearly communicate and present the GAM strategy across a variety of forums
  • Establish cross-business and cross-functional connectivity and collaboration to ensure ongoing strategic alignment
  • Responsible for managing the agenda and maintaining meeting minutes for the GAM US Strategy Committee meetings

What do you need to succeed?

Must Have

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Math, Engineering or Liberal Arts.
  • 7 - 10 years of management consulting, corporate strategy, investment management, or related experience, in Financial Services
  • Strong organizational skills / project management experience
  • Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across a wide range of stakeholders
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Strong presentation and written and verbal communication skills to drive impact and influence

Nice to Have  

  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic business environment
  • Proven ability to communicate with senior executives as well as build and present complex presentations
