Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
A postdoctoral position is available at Iowa State University in Dr. Carmen Gomes’s laboratory for a multi-component project that is focused on the synthesis, fabrication method optimization, and characterization of nanostructured materials for delivery systems for food, agriculture, and health care applications and controlled release of cargo. Substantial research acumen in all components of the project is necessary, including demonstrated experience on how to synthesize, optimize, and characterize nanostructured materials for delivery systems for food, agriculture, and health care applications applications and controlled release of cargo. Candidates should have experience leading and completing multiple research projects that have led to peer-reviewed manuscripts. Required Minimum Qualifications:
• PhD in Pharmaceutical Science or a related science or engineering degree
Preferred Qualifications:
• Demonstrated experience in how to synthesize, optimize fabrication methods, and characterize nanostructured materials for delivery systems for food, agriculture, and health care applications and controlled release of cargo.
• Experience that demonstrates excellent oral and written presentation skills.
• Experience writing journal article manuscripts, conference journal proceedings, poster presentations and/or conference oral presentations.
• Demonstrated organizational and team leadership skills.
• Experience writing grant proposals.
