Job Description Summary

The Associate Experience Specialist is responsible for supporting and driving the associate experience from job offer, onboarding and first year of employment. This role will provide data driven feedback to site leadership, as well as BD Centers of Excellence to help drive meaningful action as it relates to associate experience. This role will be a point of contact for new hires to direct them to the proper resources needed to be successful. The Associate Experience Specialist will be responsible for conducting monthly touchpoints with all new hires to ensure their assimilation and training needs are satisfactory. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to read and write and converse in English. Willing and able to uphold BD Values.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide proactive contact with new hires prior to their first day.

  • Active participation in New Hire Orientation, including introduction as the new hires’ resource from day one on to help direct them to the appropriate resources (Benefits Direct, IT, ADP, ASC, AccessHR, etc).

  • Lead new hire touchpoints at designated intervals.  Follow up with direct supervisor on any findings.  

  • Includes coaching on attendance expectations.

  • Gather and compile data from new associate/supervisor 30-day meetings to identify trends, patterns and opportunities.

  • Provide monthly data to the site leadership team regarding common themes, opportunities, and proposed actions plans to drive improvement.

  • Assists in the planning, organizing, and execution of site events, which includes leading our site activities committee, Service Awards banquet and picnic.

  • Provide a newsletter committee with introductory articles spotlighting new hires.

  • Required to flex schedule weekly to accommodate meetings and work with new hires on all shifts.

  • Drive associate experience in partnership with Associate Resource Groups (WIN, HOLA ARGs) as established.

  • Coordinate, welcome and gather data from interns.

  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

  • Improve retention of associates with less than 1 year of service by 20%

  • Drive a positive associate experience from job offer through first year of employment

  • Provides actionable feedback to leadership and Centers of Excellence to improve associate experience.

Minimum Requirement:

  • Degree level qualification; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment:

  • BD is a smoke-free campus.  Smoking and the use of electronic smoking devices, marijuana, or tobacco products are not allowed on BD property, grounds or in the parking areas.  We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to this policy

  • False eyelashes, press-on fingernails, and Jewelry is not allowed on the production floor including dermals.  Any associate wearing dermals will be required to cover them while working on the production floor. 

  • Shoes are required to be Steel Toe and non-slip for all associates while on the production floor for safety purposes.
