Job Description:

Discover will not sponsor or transfer employment work visas for this position. Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsible for the ongoing activities related to design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the Company's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Policy and Framework, and related methodologies.  Provides tactical leadership in the development of monitoring and reporting practices for the organization. Engages collaboratively with business and risk partners to enhance their risk management practices, identify improvement opportunities, and provide effective challenge and execute on the ERM framework. Actively manages and escalates risk and customer-impacting issues within the day-to-day role to management.

Responsibilities 

  • Supports the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the ERM Policy and Framework Standards, as well as supporting components
  • Supports the Enterprise risk profile reporting and governance workstream, including the design of the framework components and risk profile methodologies
  • Develops and manages process documentation for the Enterprise risk profile framework
  • Supports and coordinates activities associated with the Enterprise risk profile reporting to Senior Leadership and the Board in partnership with program teams and key stakeholders
  • Supports the development of risk and compliance tools, including training
  • Facilitates communication and builds effective working relationships with key business stakeholders and risk owners
  • Works constructively and collaboratively with others to accomplish timely resolution of requirements, findings, limit breaches and leadership objectives, or support ad hoc ERM tasks for leadership, regulators, or other stakeholders
  • Executes oversight routines across Enterprise to validate whether risk management routines are being followed, including effective challenge of the risks identified, controls developed, and governance routines established
  • Assists senior management with ad-hoc ERM analysis, projects, presentations, and/or reporting

Minimum Qualifications 

At a minimum, here’s what we need from you: 

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Engineering or related field
  • 6 + years of experience in Experience in Risk Management, Financial Services, Process Improvement, Economist, or related field
  • In Lieu of Education 8 + years In lieu of a degree, experience in Risk Management, Financial Services, Process Improvement, Economist, or related field

Preferred Qualifications 

If we had our say, we’d also look for: 

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration and Management, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Data Science or Analytics or related field
  • Experience and knowledge in data manipulation, dashboard creation, Tableau and data lake
  • Capable of creating insightful analysis reports and data visualizations
  • RIMS-Certified Risk Management Professional

Compensation:

The base pay for this position generally ranges between $88,500.00 to $149,300.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market competitive total compensation package. Factors, such as but not limited to, geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.
