THE ROLE:
The Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in the Finance department, working closely with the Assistant Controller on the daily operations of the finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a background in accounting, with the ability to follow financial processes, assist in the production of financial reports, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. The candidate will also work through the month-end closing, assist in the preparation of financial reporting packages and support the Assistant Controller throughout the annual year-end financial statement audit. In addition, the candidate will support the Assistant Controller through purchase accounting of newly acquired entities, including recording opening balance sheet and integrating the accounting function into the newly acquired Company.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Partner with offshore resource teams to prepare and record daily transactions in the general ledger. Lead the initial review of the work that has been prepared by offshore team members.
- Lead the preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations for multiple subsidiaries during the month end close process.
- Partner with FP&A to obtain an understanding of cost allocations by service line and location and record cost throughout the month based on set allocations.
- Assist with acquisition diligence and integration. Support accounting team in initial integration of newly acquired entities, including setting up opening balance sheet and recording purchase accounting.
- Assist with business licenses and assist with property tax accounting and assist team with financial audit support.
- Assist in the preparation of month-end accruals for financial reporting including accounting estimates such as payroll accruals and IBNR estimates.
- Assist in accounting research to identify the appropriate accounting of non-routine transactions in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
You will collaborate with your dynamic team in person 3x per week at our corporate office in El Segundo.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:
Qualifications:
- NetSuite Experience
- 1 - 2 years of work experience in Finance/Accounting
- Understanding of GAAP accounting and concepts
- Preferred experience in working with a healthcare organization
- Preferred experience working with multi-locations organizat
