Position Overview
Under minimal supervision, the Parts and Service Specialist supports the maintenance and repair process for Flexcar vehicles. This role includes inventory management, vendor coordination, repair order processing, customer communication, and compliance oversight.
This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime compensation under California law, including:
Overtime for hours worked over 8 in a workday
Double time for hours worked over 12 in a workday
Overtime premiums for qualifying seventh consecutive workdays

Parts & Inventory Management
Identify, order, receive, stock, allocate, and reconcile parts inventory
Conduct cycle counts and assist with physical inventory
Track core returns and process vendor credits
Return excess parts to maintain lean inventory levels
Order and track consumable supplies for service operations
Vendor & Cost Management
Negotiate pricing and terms with local vendors
Coordinate with vendors to complete off-site repairs
Manage repair-related expenditures within company guidelines
Customer Service & Communication
Greet and assist service customers professionally
Handle direct customer interactions and transferred calls
Communicate repair timelines and updates proactively
Remain calm and solution-oriented during escalated interactions
Repair Order Coordination
Create and manage repair orders end-to-end
Order parts based on technician recommendations
Route work appropriately to technicians
Review work orders for accuracy and completeness
Compliance & Safety
Support Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) compliance
Maintain compliance with Cal/OSHA standards
Keep work areas clean and hazard-free in alignment with 5S standards
Safeguard company vehicles, property, and customer information
Operational Support
Use internal systems and software platforms to complete assignments
Assist in onboarding new team members
Provide cross-functional support as needed
Required Qualifications
At least 18 years of age
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
3+ years of service and parts experience preferred
Ability to lift and carry tools and supplies up to 75 pounds
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
Willingness to work in varying weather conditions
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Comfort using computer systems and inventory management tools
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and walking
Outdoor work exposure as required
Lifting up to 75 pounds
Compensation Transparency (California – SB 1162)
The hourly pay range for this position in California is $27.00 – $29.50 per hour
This range represents the reasonably expected pay range for this role within California. Actual compensation will be determined based on:
