Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time.  Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers.  Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation.  Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines:  Reliability System Safety and Supportability.


Job Summary:

We’re an employee-focused team collaborating across departments, including Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Supply Chain, Operations, Test & Integration and Production.

As a Senior FRACAS Engineer, you’ll support Raytheon’s programs by pursuing synergies between the technical disciplines. 

You’ll also provide leadership in collaborations with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal

What You Will Do:

We’re looking for a Senior FRACAS Engineer to join our teams located in Huntsville, AL, McKinney, TX or Tucson, AZ.

Your overall responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as a Lead FRACAS (Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System) Engineer.
  • Performing root cause analysis and investigation and recommending design improvements based on analysis.
  • Directing investigations and determining root cause of failure on various design, production and reported field failures of communication systems and components.
  • Conducting Trend Analysis on failed antenna components to determine the true source of a product and or component failure.
  • Identifying, implementing and verifying corrective actions to prevent further recurrence of the failure.
  • Determining resolution of communication system failures and corrective actions in support of the FRACAS program.
  • Maintaining FRACAS database, monitoring status, tracking open FRACAS investigations and generating reports for management and customers.
  • Developing and presenting technical data to management and customer reviews.
  • Conducting weekly meetings to go over new and existing failures
  • Additional responsibilities will include:
    • Program-related work including participating in proposal writing and bid submissions
    • Mentoring junior engineers
    • Obtaining and maintaining Special Access Program clearance

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically Requires: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM).  Electrical Engineering degree preferred.  Minimum 5 years of relevant Engineering experience.  An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.
  • Experience with Reliability Engineering (including reliability analysis, failure investigations, and/or root cause/corrective action (RCCA))
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of technical information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Functional knowledge of statistics or using statistical packages for data analysis (e.g. Excel)
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to develop solutions to technical problems in fast paced, deadline driven environments with constantly changing priorities
  • Electrical Engineering experience
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
